RAINBOW STAGE IN WINNIPEG IS ON FIRE WITH TALENT!

SPECIAL REPORT – WINNIPEG

RING OF FIRE at RAINBOW STAGE

A few years ago I had the pleasure of taking in my first outdoor amphitheatre experience in Winnipeg with the publisher of Toronto On Demand, Joey Cee. It was the opening night of THE LITTLE MERMAID put on by the Rainbow Stage.

What I was expecting to see is NOT what I got to see or hear. The production was beyond my expectations and very entertaining to say the least.

I was hoping to get back to see one of the latest seasonal productions and once again visit this beautiful entertainment complex tucked away in Kildonan Park.

What a way to start the summer than with a little country and a whole lot of Cash! It was the season kickoff for Rainbow Stage with the musical production of Ring Of Fire based on the music of Johnny Cash.

Running from June 23 – July 15, 2016

Ring of Fire is a raucous celebration of the music, spirit and life of legendary singer-songwriter Johnny Cash. The cast of eight wonderfully versatile actor/musicians will each “walk the line”, taking turns portraying Cash and bringing his music back to life.

Ring of Fire offers a rare glimpse at the life and times of the man you thought you knew and provided a fascinating insight into the man, the myth, the legend. Described by the New York Times as a show that “follows a sort of ages-of-man path from green country-boy idealism into the sloughs of a hard-living musician’s disillusionment and on up to the mountains of spiritual redemption.

The production was created by Richard Maltby Jr. and conceived by William Meade. Under the direction of Carson Nattrass, the orchestration of Steven Bishop and Jeff Lisenby, and the musical direction of Gerry Atwell, Ring Of Fire burns up the indoor/outdoor theatre with excitement and awe. The extremely talented cast is made up of Gilles Fournier, Jeff Giles, Jesse Grandmont, Elena Howard-Scott, Allison Lynch, Tom Keenan, Rena Semenko and Kaitlyn Sample – all of which hold up their own in this fabulous presentation and tribute to the “man in black”.

NEXT UP and should not be missed!
