The annual Noella Festival returns to Downtown Barrie from November 18 to December 17, transforming the city into a winter wonderland and filling the streets with holiday cheer. Hosted by the Downtown Barrie BIA, the Noella Festival is a month-long celebration of the holiday season, featuring dazzling light displays, festive events, and shopping experiences designed to inspire joy and bring the community together.
Each year, the Noella Festival welcomes thousands of visitors and residents who come to enjoy its wide array of seasonal attractions. A central feature of the festival is the incredible holiday light installations that adorn Barrie’s historic downtown. These glowing decorations bring a magical ambiance to the area, making it the perfect backdrop for family outings, romantic strolls, and festive photo opportunities.

The tree lighting and fireworks begin at Meridian Stage after Santa completes his tour down Dunlop Street! - WINDOW DECORATING VOTING AND WINNERS ANNOUNCEMENT – Friday, November 24th to Sunday, December 17th
Downtown Barrie’s Noella Window Decorating Contest returns! The theme this year is open, so get creative! The public will be the judge and voting takes place between November 24th – December 17th. Each vote earns a chance to win a $250 Downtown Barrie Gift Card and the winning business is awarded $1000 towards an ad campaign with Corus Radio!
For holiday shoppers, the Noella Festival offers an unparalleled experience. The festival supports local businesses through various promotions and festive markets, encouraging shoppers to explore the unique boutiques, art galleries, and specialty shops that Downtown Barrie has to offer. Many stores participate in holiday sales and offer extended hours, allowing visitors to find the perfect gift for everyone on their list while supporting the community.

Our Annual Tree and Wreath Lot returns to Meridian Place in December. Once again supported by Drysdale Tree Farm. All proceeds are donated to Hospice Simcoe. - Noella Christmas Market – Sunday, November 19th
Head downtown this Sunday for the first Noella Festive Market! Find unique handcrafted gifts from local artisans and delicious treats. Enjoy free art activities, Christmas carolers, lumberjack performances and a visit with Santa Claus. It’ll be a holly jolly good time!
The Noella Festival is also packed with family-friendly activities and holiday-themed entertainment. From Santa sightings and carolling to seasonal treats and kids’ crafts, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Special events, such as the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and Santa Claus Parade, add to the holiday spirit and are highlights for families and children. - Santa Claus Parade begins making its way Downtown at 5 pm.
