Hearn Generating Station
Gear up for one of the hottest events in town, Luminato Festival’s 2016 Opening Party celebrates the festival’s 10th birthday in the theme of Today is the Future on June 9, starting 9:30 PM.
Party-goers get the first look at the reimagined Hearn Generating Station and will experience Circa 1948, an immersive installation by Stan Douglas co-presented with TIFF, dance under the world’s largest mirror ball as Luminato Festival installs Canadian artist Michel de Broin’s One Thousand Speculations for a second time; be dazzled by a concrete-jungle style parkour performance that plays off the grandiose concrete and steel of the Hearn; and explore a range of art installations, galleries and more nestled throughout the space.
Dress code is ‘Tomorrow’s Black Tie.’ Tickets are $100 and available online.
