In the heart of Port Credit.

A brand-new Canada Day celebration, Canada Day #INThePort, is set to take over Port Credit on July 1, 2025. Presented by Paint the Town Red and the Port Credit BIA, the event promises a full day of festivities capped off with a spectacular fireworks display over the Credit River.

The event comes in response to the postponement of the traditional Paint the Town Red festival to 2026. In the wake of community disappointment, organizers rallied to deliver an unforgettable Canada Day experience this year.

The celebration will close Lakeshore Road from Stavebank to Hurontario, transforming Port Credit’s Main Street into a lively pedestrian zone. Attendees can expect live music, street performers, food vendors, a dedicated kids’ zone, and amusement rides, including a giant Ferris wheel. The day-long street festival aims to draw visitors from across Mississauga and beyond.

Ward One Councillor Stephen Dasko praised the collaboration behind the event, noting that it reflects the Port Credit community’s unity, spirit, and pride. “This year’s event is more than just a celebration—it’s a vibrant expression of who we are,” said Dasko.

Visit Mississauga CEO Victoria Clarke echoed this sentiment, stating, “Canada Day #INThePort showcases the very best of our city—from culture and cuisine to music and community pride. It’s an honour to bring this tradition to life with our partners.”

This marks the first full Main Street closure organized by the Port Credit BIA, which expects a strong economic boost for local businesses. “Our local shops and restaurants are the heartbeat of Port Credit,” said BIA Chair John Pappas. “This festival not only unites our community but directly supports our business owners through increased foot traffic and visibility.”

Mississauga Mayor Carolyn Parrish voiced her support as well, calling the event “a testament to Port Credit’s creativity and community strength.”

The day will end with a dazzling fireworks show launched from a barge at the river’s mouth—a signature Port Credit tradition. Paint the Town Red Chair John Bozzo emphasized the significance of this finale: “We are committed to delivering the most incredible fireworks display Port Credit has ever seen.”

Canada Day #INThePort will run from 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on July 1, 2025, in the heart of Port Credit.
