Get hooked on a new family activity! Together you can fish without a license during Ontario’s Free Family Fishing Weekend. These special events happen periodically in our beautiful province (even in winter) to allow locals and visitors alike to fish without purchasing a license.
Free fishing participants must fish under the Conservation fishing license limits which are set out in the current Ontario Recreational Fishing Regulations Summary. Except for the licensing requirement, Ontario fishing regulations, fees and limits continue to apply during free fishing days. Participants must carry a government-issued photo ID that states their name and date of birth. Printed copies of the summary are available at licence issuers and ServiceOntario Centres.
There are again two options to participate: join a public event near you or fish with your family and submit your “family event” to receive a free fishing package and be entered into a draw for a $500 Fishing Prize Pack from Lucky Strike, Shimano, and Ontario Out of Doors!
